Long-distance busses
Do you want to travel by bus from Madrid airport to one of the other Spanish cities? Then you can use various long-distance buses from the bus companies Avanzabus, Alsa or Socibus. Prices depend on which bus company you choose and to which destination you want to travel.

Train
Only at terminal 4 (T4) floor -1 there is a train station from where RENFE connects the airport with the local trains “Cercanías” C1 and the C10 lines. Are you arriving at one of the other terminals? Then you can use the shuttle bus to Terminal 4 free of charge.
Príncipe Pío (Madrid) – T4: First train at 06.02h (06.02am). Last train at 02.33h (02.33am).
T4 – Príncipe Pío (Madrid): First train at 05.56h. Last train at 22.25h (10.25pm).
The trains run every 15-20 minutes.
The C1 train stops at the following railway stations:
Príncipe Pío, Pirámides, Delicias, Méndez Álvaro, Atocha, Recoletos, Nuevos Ministerios, Chamartín, Fuente de la Mora, Valdebebas, Aeropuerto T4.
You can also use the C10 train in the direction of Villalba. However, it will make more stops along the way and so it will take you a little longer to reach your destination.
Rate one way: € 2,60 (Valid for 1 trip within 2 hours after the ticket is issued).
Rate return: € 5,20 (ticket outbound trip valid within 2 hours after issuance. Return next day).
Do you already have a long-distance train ticket or an AVE (high-speed train) ticket? Then this service is free of charge. You can also use the train with a Tourist Pass. Just check whether your final destination is located within the valid zones.

Metro / Subway
From terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, metro line 8 will take you to Nuevos Ministerios metro station in the center of Madrid in just 13-20 minutes. The metro’s run from 06.05h (06.05am) in the morning till 01.30h (01.30am) at night.
The metro stops at the following stations:
Nuevos Ministerios, Colombia, Pinar del Rey, Mar de Cristal, Feria de Madrid, Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3, Barajas, Aeropuerto T4.
Terminal 1, 2 and 3 – subway station Nuevos Ministerios: 13-15 minutes.
Terminal 4 – subway station Nuevos Ministerios: 18-20 minutes.
Note: the Barajas stop between the terminals is in the city and not at the airport!

Taxi
The official taxis in Madrid can be recognized by the white car with a red line on the side. From the airport there are two rates for the use of taxis, depending on your destination. A ride to the center takes around 23 minutes or more.
Rate 3: airport Madrid – destinations within a distance of 9500m or less
- Valid from the airport terminals to destinations max. 9.5 km outside the M-30 zone.
- 365 days per year, 24 hours per day
- Minimum fare: € 20
- € 1,05 per kilometer / € 20,50 per hour.
- If the distance is further than 9.5 km (or in terms of travel time), the taximeter will calculate the final rate in accordance with the above kilometer and / or hourly rates.
Rate 4: airport Madrid – centre Madrid

- You pay a fixed rate of € 30 (rate 4) from Madrid airport to the center or from the center to the airport. This rate applies 24 hours a day to destinations within the zone where the M-30 motorway runs.
